Paula was an inspiration to this family for all her short life. At the of two years she contacted a rare blood disease, Henoch Schonlein's Purpura which nearly took her life. One year after that she had her tonsils out, and once again it was life threatening situation. When Paula was 20 she started her nursing career, training to be a registered nurse, a 3 year course. In her third year she was diagnosed with Good Pastures disease, and had chronic renal failure, and given 12 hours to live. She came through that and spent many years on Dialyses three times a week. At the same time she carried on with her studies, and graduated as a registered nurse. Then she had a Kidney Transplant, which was successful for about three years, in all she had 3 Kidney transplants. The last one was a great success, but the unbelievable happened she got breast cancer, Paula had Chemotherapy, and a mastectomy. And once again she nearly passed away. Paula worked as a nursing sister, many the time she was sicker than her patients, she never complained, never treated her illness as a handicap. Finally her cancer spread to her liver and her stomach . She finally had a seizure in her lovely house, and passed away peacefully . She had planned to go to work the following week. She was married to Kym, who nursed Paula and loved her till the end. Paula's great fear was that people would forget her.
She will live forever in our hearts. Love Mum and Dad and sister Sarah
